The King and the Spider

The-King-and-the-Spider

King Vikram was a very brave king. But, one day, he lost a battle and had to flee. He took shelter in a cave. While sitting there, he saw a small spider trying to weave a web across the cave ceiling. As the spider crawled up, a thread of the web broke and the spider fell down. But the spider did not give up. He climbed again and again. Finally, he succeeded and completed the web. King Vikram thought, ‘If a small spider can face failure so bravely, why should I give up? I will also keep fighting till I win.’ This thought gave strength to the defeated king. He got out of the cave and collected his brave soldiers. He fought again and again against his enemy. He never gave up. After many attempts, he defeated the large army and regained his kingdom. He had learnt a great lesson from the spider.
Moral: Perseverance paves way to success.
