The Lamp

Mr Blunt came down the street every night with a ladder. He would put it against each lamp, climb up and light it. Little Clementine watched him every night. One night, she saw that there were some creatures fluttering around one of the lamps. She ran out and saw that they were fairies and they looked worried. “What happened?” she called out. “Our Fairy Prince has fainted inside the lamp!” said one of the fairies, “We must rescue him!” Clementine ran after Mr Blunt and called to him. “Please, sir, help the fairies to take their prince out safely from the lamp!” Mr Blunt was very surprised, but he came back with his ladder. He went up and brought down the little prince lying unconscious. He gave him to Clementine and the fairies. They sprinkled magic dust and he came awake! From that day onwards, the street was known as the Magic Lamp Street!
