One day, three boys went for a picnic near a pond. They put down their basket of food at the shore, and jumped into the pond to enjoy a bath. When they returned, they found two girls with ponytails eating their food. When asked, the girls replied, “Anything lying on the ground is public property. So the basket and the food are also public property, and hence, we ate up the food!” The girls then went to a nearby park and played. After a while, they were exhausted. They decided to take a nap under a big tree. While the girls were fast asleep, the boys came and cut off their ponytails. The girls screamed at them. The boys replied seriously, “Your ponytails were lying on the ground. They are public property. So we cut them off!” In this way, the girls were taught a lesson.
