The Lie-hunting Wizard

A long, long time ago, there lived the Great Wizard. He was the hunter of lies. He had some magic stones which helped him to find the child who told the most lies. The magic stones were beautiful but they grew with each lie. The stones also moved from person to person until they reached the worst of liars.
There lived a little boy who was a big liar. He had collected many magic stones. So, one day, he decided to throw them into the middle of a river. Then, he put all the magical stones into a boat. After some time, when the boy and the boat were in the river, the Great Wizard appeared. He asked, “Hello dear! Where are you going?” “I am going fishing,” the little boy replied. As soon as the little boy answered, the stones started growing. The Great Wizard caught his lie and asked him another question. But the boy lied after each question.

The magical stones grew bigger and bigger, and the boat began to sink because of overweight. The little boy was afraid and asked for help but the Great Wizard refused to help him. He said, “This is your punishment and you have to face it alone.” The little boy started crying. “Oh God! Please help me. I don’t even know how to swim. I will die,” he said to the Great Wizard.
He regretted telling lies and asked for forgiveness. Then the Great Wizard replied, “I would only save you if you agree to become my apprentice.” The boy agreed to be the apprentice of Great Wizard. Suddenly, the stones disappeared and the boat came afloat. From that day, the little boy never lied and spent many years as the Wizard’s assistant. One day, the wizard retired and the boy became the new Great Wizard, hunter of lies.
