Once, a lion named Hubo became so old that he couldn’t hunt animals for himself. One day, he reclined in his den and started thinking a plan to remove his hunger. Then an idea came in his mind. The lion pretended to be sick and invited all the animals to his den. Hubo announced that he would read out his last will. One by one, many animals—the horse, the goat, the monkey and the zebra— entered the lion’s den. After some time, however, the animals stopped coming. The worried lion came out and found a fox waiting outside. “Why isn’t anyone else coming inside?” he enquired.
The wise fox said, “My Lord, we noticed that all the footmarks led to your den but none had come out.” The angry lion growled loudly while the animals fled away. The wise fox went to the other animals and said, “Now you know why I say that it is easy to get into an enemy’s web but difficult to emerge safe.”
