The Lost Egg

An owl woke up from his afternoon nap when he heard a big thump. He looked around from his perch, only to find a large, beautiful white egg on the floor. When he examined it, a mole popped up and claimed it was his. The owl corrected him that no mole can lay eggs and cried aloud, whose egg it was. The rabbit heard of his call and came forward to sniff the egg and affirmed it was his. Again, the owl corrected him that it was already summers that the rabbit could lay eggs. Thereafter, he refused to agree to the toad that the egg belonged to him as a toad’s eggs are very tiny. A badger wandering nearby for his dinner of eggs, crept over and declared his eagerness to eat that egg he was looking for but was stopped by all animals.

Suddenly, the egg made a tapping sound and a small crack appeared. Everyone was startled. There appeared an eagle from the sky and said it was her egg she was searching for. The egg then popped open fully and a baby eagle came out. Both mother and the baby kissed each other and the justice prevailed.
