The Magic Turtle

Harry had a flute that he used to play whenever he was very sad or happy. Today was a sad day because he got his school report and he had not done well at all! He went to a riverbank and started playing a sad tune from his flute thinking of his mother. He knew his mother would be very angry. He wished he had listened to her when she told him to study hard. Suddenly he heard a voice when he looked up. He saw a huge turtle swimming towards him. The turtle asked Harry why he was playing a sad tune on his flute. Harry told his story. Harry told the tortoise, “I’ve decided not to show my report card to my mother.” “That’s not the right thing to do. You must tell your mother the truth and promise her that you’ll do better next time. It’s never too late to mend your ways,” said the turtle. “And don’t worry,” continued the turtle. “I am a magical turtle. I’ll help you in your studies. But only if you play the flute for me every evening.” Harry was delighted to hear the assurance from the turtle and promised to work hard and come to the riverbank every day to play his flute for the turtle.
