Victor was a rich businessman but very miserly. He never gave alms to the poor nor did he do any charity work. He just did business and whatever money he earned, he would put it in a pot and bury the pot in the forest. However, there were so many pots in so many places that Victor himself had forgotten most of them. However, he did not realise this till very late. Once, Victor’s wife fell seriously ill. The doctor asked Victor to deposit the medical fees. Victor ran to dig up the pots of gold but he had forgotten the places. He could not find any. Sadly, he went back and told the doctor that he could not arrange for money.” A kind old man standing near by was listening and offered to pay. Victor was filled with gratitude. He promised himself that he would also help people in need just like the stranger had helped him!
