Morning assembly is an indispensable part of school work. School work begins with it in all schools. As such it is essential for all schools.
Students reach school in time to take part in morning assembly. The first bell provides clarion call for students to participate in morning assembly. On hearing that sound of the first bell, students start pouring in carrying their bags across their shoulders. Students of each class stand section wise in line mostly according to size. Class teachers mount on their guard over their respective classes. All the teachers whether they are class teacher or subject teacher attend the morning assembly. The physical education teacher checks each section and class to see whether students are standing in proper order or not. He whistles at this hour. After this silence prevails in morning assembly.
After this Principal of the school gives a green signal for the Morning Prayer. After the prayer pledge is taken to serve the motherland sincerely, honestly and with devotion. After this Physical education teacher generally coaches students to take drill or light physical exercises. It keeps students active and alert.
After this students go to their classes. Respective class teachers take attendance of students either by calling his or her name or role no. students mark their presence by saying yes sir or present sir. Students who come late are unable to get their attendance so they are marked absent and they have to pay fine for their late coming. Thus morning assembly imposes duty to come in time. It creates habit of punctuality.
After morning assembly teaching begins and subject teachers start teaching.
