Hatim had entered the divine valley with Jam, but now he could not find a way out for himself. He walked and walked till he heard the sound of waves. On reaching closer, to his surprise, he found that the sea was blood red! A boat approached Hatim. He sat on it and it took him to the foot of a lofty mountain that was oozing out blood. Climbing across it, he reached the silver sea. There, Hatim saw another boat waiting for him. This boat took him to the foot of a golden mountain. Crossing it, he saw the golden sea. Here, he changed the boat again. This boat carried him to the sea of liquid fire. In terrible heat, Hatim sailed for days, till he saw a glimpse of land. By some miracle, he had arrived in Yemen, his hometown! Hatim was tempted to go home and unite with his family, but then he remembered his duty and left for Shahabad.
