Once an eagle and mouse were very close friends. They decided to live near each other. So, the eagle built her nest on a tree while the mouse lived in the hole of the tree. One day, the mouse went away on some work. The eagle did not have anything to feed her eaglets. So, she picked one of the mouse’s kids and fed it to her young ones. When the mouse returned, she was heartbroken. She cried out, “You have cheated me.” But one day, the eagle was punished. She had picked a piece of meat which was being roasted. But she did not know that she was carrying a burning cinder along. As she placed the meat in her nest, the cinder set the nest on fire. The eagle’s children were badly hurt. While the eagle cried, the mouse exclaimed, “God has punished you for breaking a friend’s trust!”
Moral: As you sow, so shall you reap.
