The Mouse and the Lion

On a summer afternoon, a mouse was playing in the forest. He reached the lion’s cave and saw him sleeping there. The mouse was curious to have a look at the lion. So, he went closer to the lion. He walked all around the lion’s cave, climbed on the back of the sleeping lion and started running on his face.
Suddenly, the lion woke up and was very angry. He saw the mouse and caught him in his paws. The scared mouse begged the lion to let him go. But the lion said, “You woke me up from my sleep. Now, I will eat you.”
The mouse pleaded, “O Lion! You are the king of the jungle. Can you please forgive me? If you let me go today, I will be of some help to you in the future.” The lion pitied the mouse and let him go with a warning.
A few days later, the lion was searching for food in the forest. He was hungry and was hoping to catch a deer. But he got caught in a trap laid by the hunter. The hunter came and tied him to a big tree with a strong rope. The lion got angry and started roaring loudly.

The mouse that the lion had let go off happened to pass the same way and heard the lion’s roar. Out of curiosity, he went to see what was happening. He recognised the lion from the distance and he immediately ran towards him.
The mouse started biting the rope with his strong teeth. After some time, he nibbled the complete rope and the lion was free.
The mouse was happy to help the lion and the lion thanked him.
