In the heart of a forest, there was a beautiful lake. It had fish, frogs, ducks and a turtle. And on its banks lived cranes, crabs and many other creatures. One day, a swan came to live in the lake. Everyone was a little jealous because she was so beautiful. The turtle alone was friendly. One night, the turtle came out and saw a strange sight. There was a beautiful maiden in a white dress dancing in the moonlight. He realised it was the swan! He too had a secret: he transformed himself into a handsome young man! As soon as they met, the two of them loved each other. They realised that they had been bewitched by the same wizard. They went to the wizard’s castle and killed him, breaking the spell. Then they built their own castle near the lake and came to be known as the Prince and the Princess of the Lake.
