The Nose

Nose is the outer part of respiratory system. We intake oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide through nose. The utilisation of oxygen for creatures is more important than food and water. We can stay alive for many days without food and water, but we die without breathing within few minutes. Therefore, you can understand the importance of the nose.
Nose is an important part of the body in view of physiology. Nose helps vocal cord in producing sound and make the voice melodious and resonant. Undeveloped and primitive tribal races are having language and nose both undeveloped. Their whole language is formed of 100 – 200 words. They are incapable to pronounce lingual sounds and alphabets. Melody and delicacy are not present in their pronunciation, but the person who are having developed nose use enriched language with glossary and full of clear sound.
We breathe with the help of nose and the vibrissae raised inside the nose let the air pass only after filtering dust particles. Nose works like a filter and adapts more cold or hot air and converts it in suitable temperature then carries it to lungs. Moreover, nose reduces even more heat or moisture of the air. In this way nose adapts the air and by processing makes it suitable for respiration.
Nose has smelling capacity due to which we choose appropriate food for eating and suitable air for respiration. We come to know by smelling that particular food is eatable or not, likewise the air is acceptable or not.
The story of origin and development of the nose is very interesting and abbreviated. The development of nose depends upon the development of brain. It comes to know by the study of ancient skull bones of primitive man that the nose of primitive man was undeveloped.
The structure of their internal nose was already existed, but the structure of outer nose was developed later on. Earlier only two holes were existed in the form of outer nose. Like monkey and chimpanzee, the nose of the ancestors of human was also flat and undeveloped. The proper development of the nose was happened at the last phase of the development of man.
Primitive man was biologically, mentally backward and like undeveloping animals. Their brain was also small and undeveloped, but when their intellectual development was gradually started as a result they needed oxygen in more quantity, which was not possible by normal undeveloped nose hole. Therefore, development of the nose had started. Long and developed nose is suitable to make moisture less, filtered oxygen to the lungs in sufficient quantity. Such nose is also appropriate for every type of weather, changing temperature and polluted atmosphere. The lungs obtain sufficient oxygen by means of developed nose and supply oxygenated blood to the brain. Thus the brain became developed and high intellectual activities are accomplished with the help of them.
Size of the Nose

1. Big Size Nose : Big size developed nose is a sign of abundance of energy, sensitivity, ambition, high intellectual capacity, the capacity to execute resolutions and plans. The elephant has most developed nose in the animal kingdom. The elephant can lift even a small needle laid on the ground by his trunk. The elephant is very cautious, calm, emotional and clairvoyant animal. His long trunk works like his hand.
Developed and big size nose represents the presence of potent lungs and the brain having intellectual capacity. The persons having such nose are opulent with human characters, having scientific view, practical, successful businessman, patient, calm and firm determined.
2. Small Size Nose : The quality of small size nose is just opposite of the quality of big size nose. Small size nose represents undeveloped and rudimentary personality, immature biological and intellectual development. The noses of Negros and Mongols are the example of small and undeveloped nose. The persons having small nose are backward in term of mental, intellectual and physical development. They are by nature dependant, hard labourer, brutal and barbarian. They are not having free personality. Some vices and deficiencies like working under someone, leading their life anyway, superstitious, drinking and witlessness etc. are found in their nature. They are furious and restless.
Position of the Nose
1. Right Angled Nose : If an angle of ninety degree is formed between nostril and Philtrum, this type of nose is called right angled nose. Right angled nose is a sign of systematic and ideal human characters. A combination of both the traits, dominance of emotions and practicability are found in the man having such nose. Such persons do their work after proper thinking with patience.

2. Obtuse Angled Nose : If more than 900 degree angle is formed between Philtrum and nostril due to being the nostril vertically curved, such nose is called obtuse angled nose. The size of the nose of unborn baby starts forming from the age of four months. Earlier the nose of embryo baby is obtuse angled, but with the development of embryo, the perspective of nose is also changed and the obtuse angle which was prevailed earlier, becomes changed in right angle or acute angle with due course of time.
The persons having obtuse angled nose have comparatively less developed mind. They are immature, childlike, innocent, optimistic, superstitious and innate by nature. They are emotional, have lack of practical understanding and maturity.
3. Acute Angled Nose : If the angle less than 900 is formed between nostril and Philtrum, it is called acute angled nose. Acute angled nose is a sign of materialistic concept, commercial efficiency and pomp and show, but the nose which is abnormally inclined downwards and has angle of very less than 900 represents ambitiousness, impracticability, laziness, indolence and jilted mind. The person having such nose is impulsive, furious and amorous. They are suffered from nervous or mental disorders.
Shape of the Nose
Concave Nose : If bridge is receded and root and nostril is projected the complete shape of the nose looks concave. Such nose is called concave nose. Concave nose and obtuse angled nose have similarities with each other. Concave nose is also called negative nose.

The nose of embryonic baby and infants are concave, which later on becomes developed and straight. Mental development of the person is not occurred due to being the nose concave and small, which is a signification of mental retardation and undeveloped personality.
On the one hand concave nose is a sign of childhood, innocence and immaturity; on the other hand it also represents cruelty, foolishness, dependence and undeveloped personality. The persons possessing concave nose are quarrelsome, superstitious, less minded, impatient, ambitionless and materialistic.
The persons, who are brutal, cruel and impudent, have also concave, small and thin nose. They do wrong deeds without prior thinking and in impulsion. Concave nose is a symbol of negativity, pessimism and witlessness, due to which the person has less enthusiasm and is lethargic and dependence seeker.
2. Straight Nose : The nose, which is straight from the root to tip, is called straight nose. Straight nose is also called practical and Greek nose. The persons having straight nose are practical, wise, patient, ambitious and diligent. A blend of feeling and behaviour has found in such persons.
The persons getting success in various fields of life and famous artists, writers, philosophers, critics, administrators, thinkers, scientists, businessmen, social workers, religious teachers and mystery lookers have straight nose. Such persons are visionary and they are having extraordinary capacity to materialise their dreams. Such persons work with planning. They are well arranged, disciplined and punctual. Straight nose strengthens lungs and provides sharpness to the brain.
3. Convex Nose : Convex nose is formed due to being the middle portion of the bridge convex. Convex nose is also called positive and Roman nose. The persons possessing convex nose are ambitious and positive by nature. Such persons are skilled, administrator, manager, successful businessmen, credible, having leading capacity. They prove their importance and impact everywhere. The persons having convex nose have extraordinary capacity to work and they are firm determined. When they start any work, they take a sigh only after accomplishing the job. They are crazy and sincere about their work.
The persons having convex nose are lawyer, judge, advocate, higher officer, successful businessman, inventor, engineer, doctor, teacher etc. They are logical by nature. They do not believe on rumours, on the contrary they themselves investigate the facts, then believe in any matter.
If the nose is convex and its tip is very thin and declined frontward, the persons are less minded, pessimist and liar. Likewise if the height of the nose is abnormally convex, the persons are conceited, selfish, emotionless, greedy, furious and lustful.
Parts of the Nose
Bridge
The structure spread like a bridge between root and nostril is called bridge. See figure No. 152. The character and behaviour of the person is also varied as per size and perspective of the bridge. There are five types of bridges, which are as follows :

High Bridge : If the bridge is high, it can easily be recognised. High bridge is a sign of self esteem, strong physical power, diligence and wisdom. The persons having high bridge are active, systematic and ambitious.
Flat Bridge : If the bridge is flat, the height of nose becomes less and it appears to be adhered with the base of nose. Flat bridged nose is a symbol of lack of ambition, incomplete intellectual development, superstition, foolishness, flexible personality and timidity.
Depressed Bridge : The height of nose becomes less due to being the bridge depressed, because of this the nose looks depressed from frontal view. The persons having depressed nose are timid, modest and flattery minded by nature. Their lungs are weak and the mind is full of many doubts, unable to maintain confidence, their eyes always blink.
Thin Bridge : The size of nose also looks thin due to being the bridge thin. Thin nose is a sign of impulsive instincts, furiousness, sexual impulsion, stubborn nature, impracticability, short-temperedness. The brain of the persons having thin nose is very active but unbalanced. Their lungs are feeble and impulsion impose them for aggressiveness, impatience, talkativeness, hurting to others by saying bitter words.
Thick Bridge : The nose also looks thick and extensive due to being the bridge wide. The persons having thick nose are patient, laborious and efficient. Such persons get prosperity and success by virtue of hard working capacity. Their health is well, lungs are strong and brain is energetic.
Nose Tip or Lobe
Interest for art and literature, potency of nervous system and sharpness of the mind is estimated by nose tip. There are eight types of nose tips :
Flashy Nose Tip : The nose tip becomes flashy due to sufficient presence of lubricates and nutrition in the body. The nose tip becomes glowless due to deficiency of water and nutrition. The glow of the nose tip shows the peace, satisfaction and optimism of the person. It loses its glow due to tension, filthiness of the mind, insult and hardness. Flashy nose tip is a sign of good health and decent mind. The persons possessing flashy nose tip are sensitive and helpful for others. Their work and behaviour are idealistic.
Pointed Tip : The person having pointed nose tip is volatile, hasty and ambitious. They are short-tempered and worried on trifles. Their mind is sensitive and active. Their thinking is not practical. They are in habit to build castle in the air. They are suffered from mental worries and are unnecessarily puzzled and always become busy without reason. Such persons are curious by nature. Extremism and derangement are found in their nature.

Flabby Tip : If the nose tip is fleshy and flabby, the persons are mentally frustrated and they do their work being impulsive. Such persons are furious and annoyed by nature.

Rounded Tip : The persons possessing rounded nose tip like a bulb are healthy and laborious. They do their work in team and please everyone by their good behaviour. They are ambitious. Such persons are intelligent, farsighted and sharp minded. They are also interested in literature, music and arts. They are able to manage big organisations.

Drooping Tip : The drooping nose tip represents high ambition of the person, but unfortunately their desires do not get fulfilled and they have to satisfy in the few after being disappointed.

Such persons are improvident and impractical. They become disappointed, inactive and hopeless after being unsuccessful and frustrated. The nose tip is also drooping because of weakness in nervous system; it also indicates the deficiency of mental power.
Triangular Tip : The nose tip, which is projected like a triangle, is a sign of cunningness. The persons having such nose tip are connoisseur to cheat others and serve their purpose by cleverness. They are sharp-minded, but they have dearth of morality.

Cleft Tip : The persons having cleft nose tip are sharp minded, logical and keen observer of the facts. Debating is the part and parcel of their nature. They are learned of rules, regulations and constitution, they convince to others by their infallible logics.

Projecting Tip : Projecting tip exists in the developed nose. The persons having projected tip are highly ambitious and laborious. They are materialistic. They assume physical comforts as the achievement of their life. Such persons are very clever and hypocritical. They have deep knowledge as to how, which and whom to take out work, they serve their purpose by cleverness. The persons having projected tip are successful businessman, skilled manager. They are successful in materialistic life, but their mind is restless and void.

If the nose is comparatively more projecting, long; the person is mentally deranged and disbalanced, they make the life of their family members troublesome by their work and behaviour. Such persons are furious, lustful, luxurious, making sexual contact with many persons, extremist, fickle-minded and emotionless. Their entire life and behaviour is full of problems and defames. The persons having projected nose tip are of impulsive behaviour. They are suffered from mental and neurological diseases like insomnia, epilepsy, hysteria.
Nostril
The structure contracting and expanding the size of the holes of nose, which is associated with muscles and is the entrance of nose, is called nostril. The function of the nostril is to control the quantity of air entering into the nose and helping vocal cord to produce sound. There are two types of nostrils as per the size :

Fig. 160 : Narrow nostril: Furious, impatient

1. Narrow Nostril : Narrow nostril represents undeveloped mind, weakness of lungs, impatience, furiousness and aggressiveness. The persons having narrow nostril are short tempered, excited, amorous, irritable, talkative and impulsive. The brain needs extra oxygenated blood while performing instant mental work, but sufficient oxygen is not able to enter into the lungs due to being nostril narrow. Therefore, the brain becomes sudden unable to perform its work, as a result of which the mind reacts as an episode of furiation or irritation.
2. Wide Nostril : Wide nostril is a sign of patience, zeal, generosity, diligence, laboriousness and activeness. The persons having wide nostril are well arranged, restrained and disciplined. The persons, whose lungs are developed and strong, have wide nostril. Such persons naturally intake more oxygen. Their brain is energetic and active. Self confidence, restrain, patience develop in the person due to activeness of the brain. In addition to this, the persons who are habitually involved in hard physical labour naturally intake and exhale breath rapidly, because of which their nostril becomes expanded due to activeness of concerned muscles.

Nose Root
Joining point of both the eyebrows from where the structure of nose starts, is called nose root. Types of the nose root are given below :
Flat Root : Upper portion of the nose i.e. root of the nose looks flat with forehead due to height of nose bridge. Flat root is found with Greek type of nose. It is a sign of practicability and emotional sense. Such persons are sensitive and meritorious. Their thoughts are always practical. They are clairvoyant, creative, ideal, believable and endurable.

Receding Root : The nose root receded from the below of joining point of eyebrows is a sign of dominance of emotions and importance of thoughts originated from subconscious mind. The persons having receding root are emotional, having faith and self motivated. Such persons give preference to heart than brain. But on the contrary abnormally receded root shows undeveloped brain, foolishness and primitive instincts.

Projecting Root : The root projected above from the level of forehead and eyebrow is called projecting root. Projecting root is a symbol of impulsive nature, furiation, irritability, revengeful nature and cruelty. Such persons are emotionless, self-centred and passionate. They can do inhuman deeds for fulfilling their self interest and ambition. Such persons are having materialistic mind, desirous to enjoy sensual pleasure and aristocracy.
