Once, there was a poor man named Setelane who spent his days catching mice. He ate only the meat of mice and wore the clothes made from the skin of mice. One day, as he was going around searching for the mice, he found a very big ostrich-egg lying on the ground. He picked it up and took it to his hut. He hid the egg and went out again in search of mice. At night, when he returned home, he found a loaf of bread lying. He picked it up; it was warm! He took a bite from it and it was delicious! He ate it all up and fell asleep more satisfied than ever before. He thought that the bread was far better than a mouse’s meat! Next day, he again went out in search of mice and when he returned in the evening, he found another loaf and a pot of freshly brewed beer waiting for him. He savoured drinking it.
