Winter is a difficult time for poor children. They don’t have warm clothes. They pray to God for help. One day, a poor boy stood outside a shoe-store. It was very cold winter afternoon. He was praying to God, “O Lord of Heavens! Please give me a pair of shoes.” While praying, the boy thought God could hear his words. He strongly felt that God would answer his prayers. A kind woman heard him and took him to the shoe-store. She placed a pair of new socks upon the boy’s feet and also bought him a pair of shoes. Then the woman patted his back and said, “There you will feel more comfortable now!” The boy thanked her. As she turned to go, the boy caught her hand and asked with tears in his eyes, “Are you God’s wife? “I’m His child just like you,” said the woman, before leaving the store.
