Prizes give incentive to students to work hard according to the best of their capacity and ability. As such prize distribution function is one of the most important functions of our school.
In this year, before the commencement of prize distribution, our school was white-washed and the floor was cleaned. Seating arrangements were made for the parents of students, teachers and invitees, etc. Special arrangement was made for the Chief Guest and for the Principal and President of School management committee.
The President of the managing committee made a welcome speech. The Principal presented the report highlighting the brilliant progress made by the school in various fields. Now variety programmes of songs, dance and music, etc. were presented before the audience. The items of a play and of folk dance were greatly appreciated.
After this, the Chief Guest was requested to give away prizes to meritorious students and those who had shown their achievements in games and extra- curricular activities. I was also one of the prize winners due to being a topper of my class in annual examination. Students who were awarded prizes felt very happy. I also went to the dais to take my prize. I saluted the Chief Guest, took the prize and then shook hands with him. All cheered up with clappings, so I felt very happy along with other prize winners.
After this the Chief Guest delivered his speech. In his speech, he praised school authorities and congratulated the prize winners. He advised the students to devote themselves to their studies and to the welfare of people. His speech was appreciated by clapping. The function ended with National Anthem.
All the students particularly prize winning students enjoyed this function and felt very happy.
