The rainbow was beautiful!
Melissa always waited eagerly for the rainbow to come out. “I am going to find the end of the rainbow!” she vowed, “There is going to be a pot of gold hidden there.” Melissa tried so many times to find the end of the rainbow, but in vain! The rainbows were always too big for her to really find the ends. But today, she knew in her heart that she would find it. As soon as the rainbow came, Melissa ran! She ran like the wind, like the sand that flows with the tide on the beach. She was determined to find that gold pot! And her heart told her that she was going to find something very important today. And she did. It was a miraculous sight! The rainbow ended in a cave. Melissa ran inside. The minute she stepped inside the cave, she heard the loudest HISS and a roar that just blew her ears out. Petrified beyond belief, but curious as well, Melissa decided to check out where the noise came from. She advanced slowly, afraid to make any more noise intentionally. Suddenly, she came to a broad clearing in the middle of the cave. It had a steep drop in it, just like a well. Leaning over, she saw the biggest, fattest and ugliest looking monster ever! It had the body of a toad and the head of a snake! The monster was looking straight at her. It opened its mouth in a loud HISS and blew fire straight at her! The malicious intent in its eyes said, ‘I will kill you!’ It was scary indeed!
Melissa was a brave girl. She had not come there to be scared by this fire-spitting monster! Looking around, she picked up the biggest stone that she could pick up easily and aimed it straight at the monster’s eye! Melissa hit it, straight on the head! The monster got hurt and yelled loudly in pain. Feeling braver, she picked up more rocks and kept hitting it over and over, repeatedly. Soon, the monster was buried under a huge pile of rocks. Just then, Melissa saw a bright light coming from the opposite side of the cave, which she had missed earlier. Going closer, Melissa found a big pot of gold! She was ready to go home and did not want any more rainbows to chase ever again!
