After the men of King Jordan had left the place, the Israelites asked the women as to why she would save them from her own country people. She calmly and confidently said that she trusted God, and knew that He had sent them here for a special reason. All she wanted in return was security and respect to her and her family members, when the Israelites came to invade the land. The spies promised her to do so they, however, asked her not to tell anyone about their stay at her place. They asked her to tie a red cord on her window when their soldiers attacked the land. This cord would get her and her family protected at the time of war. She let them down through a rope and asked them to be in the forest and hide in the hills. Once the search operation was called off, they could safely return back to their camp.
