There was a barren piece of land outside the village. No plants grew there. Everybody said that nothing could ever grow there. Then one day, a hard-working man came and built a small hut there. He lived with his two sons and a daughter. The next day, he began tilling the land. He worked very hard. His two sons and daughter also helped him. The neighbours laughed at him. They said he was working on the land where nothing could grow. Several months passed as the man continued working hard. The land which was barren once now had crops growing. Those who laughed at him were surprised to see that he had the best crops in the village. Soon, the man built a neat little cottage. Some more years later, the cottage became a two-storey house. The villagers realised that hard work can turn a barren land to a fertile one.
