The Road to Henty’s Farm

Henty’s Farm was a lonely place. It was far from the village, so it was difficult for Mrs Henty to get any help to work there. Mr and Mrs Henty had to find a solution. They built three small cottages on the farm and sent an advertisement to many newspapers for the cottages. They would charge no rent, but whoever came there would have to help with the farm work. First a young couple, Sarah and Ed Williams, came and found the place so good that they decided to stay on. A middle-aged man who was a painter came along next. He was good with tools and repaired things, even the old tractor. And then came young Bob, whistling and singing! He soon brought Loreen, his bride, along. Now, there were more cottages and the place had even got a tiny church. The village was called Henty’s Road!
