There was a green and dense forest. Many animals made their home in the forest.
A Wolf also lived in the forest. But everyone was scared of him. He used to hunt for animals and eat them. He was a cruel Wolf and did not show any mercy towards anyone.
All the animals in the forest started hiding from him. He could not find any animals to eat. The Wolf was hungry and angry. Near the forest was a small village. The village was the home for many Shepherds who took their animals to graze in the forest. The Wolf saw the animals and wanted to eat them.
One night, he went to the village. As he was about to enter the village, a Shepherd saw the Wolf and took out a flambeau (burning torch). The Wolf got scared looking at the fire and feeling its heat. He immediately ran back to the forest.
The next day, tired and weak, the Wolf wandered throughout the forest in search of some food to eat. But he could not find anything.
The same night, he again went to the village. He looked around and saw all the Shepherds eating meat. The Wolf was shocked and said, “You are selfish people. You chase me away when I come to eat your flock. But here, you are eating your own animals. Your animals trust you and have faith that you will save them from any harm. And look at your actions. Shame on you!” He walked away in disgust. The Shepherds felt ashamed of themselves. They did not eat any of their animals again.
