Once, there was a king swan of golden colour. He lived in his palace river with his beautiful daughter. He loved his daughter very much, so he wanted her to choose the husband of her own choice. The king organized a party in his palace and invited birds from far and near for his daughter to choose a suitable husband. Many birds of all kinds arrived at the party. The king’s lovely daughter looked at all the suitors and chose an emerald green and blue peacock to be her husband.
The other birds congratulated the peacock on his good luck. The peacock was very thrilled and started dancing in excitement. In his excitement, he forgot all manners and modesty. The king was enraged by the peacock’s indecency and said, “I will not let my daughter get married to such a proud and shameless creature who doesn’t even know how to behave.” Now, the princess was married to the king’s nephew and the silly peacock flew away in shame.
