Once, a boy stole his classmate’s book. He showed it to his mother. His mother, instead of scolding him, encouraged him. After a few days, he stole some clothes. He again showed them to his mother. She applauded him. The boy reached adulthood after some years. Then he started stealing the things of greater value. But, one day, he was caught red-handed. He was sentenced to imprisonment and led away to the prison. His mother saw him and started crying. The son saw her and said, “I wish to say something to my mother.” When he came close to her, the son quickly bit her ear with his teeth. The mother was shocked and angry. She slapped him. The son said, “If only you had slapped me when I first stole that book, I would not have come to this stage.”
