The Spirit Keeper

Pentagon was a good friend. He was a spirit keeper. All the spirits that passed on to the heaven-front came to him. He was their guide and friend. It was Pentagon’s duty to show the humble spirits around heaven-front and tell them the right way to go forward in their after-death life. “Death is not the last thing that happens to you, good spirits,” he would tell them, “Your journey has just begun.” It was also Pentagon’s duty to save these spirits from Perturia, his evil brother. Perturia, on the other hand, was the collector of evil spirits. All the people who did evil things and were not meant to go to heaven-front after their death, went to Perturia. He was their guide. These spirits had hurt and troubled their loved ones while alive, thinking only about their own happiness. Since these spirits were already evil, they did not need any mentoring. Perturia would tell them, “Do whatever your heart pleases!” and they would end up doing even more evil and hurtful things.

One day, heaven-front stopped getting any good spirits. Pentagon waited and waited and waited. But none came. He started worrying whether all good had left the world! So, he decided to check out. ‘Why! There, they are!’ he exclaimed, ‘But why are they standing in the death-line?’ Just then, he noticed that Perturia was capturing all the good spirits and was taking them to hellish home. “Welcome home!” Perturia bellowed to the poor spirits before throwing hot oil on them. Locking them in the lock room, he let the Cacus dragon inside, and then sealed the room with a ring of fire. The dragon chased the good spirits and bit their hands, ears, legs and even faces off. It was pure torture. Bruised and bloody bodies, horrifying injuries and pain were filling the good spirits with darkness. Their screams of pain, fear and suffering could be heard till the heaven-front.

Pentagon heard their cries. “I must save them!” he decided. Rushing to the hellish home, Pentagon threw the Flower of Mercy over Perturia, which gave him blisters all over his body. Next, he fired the Water of Kindness, which turned all his evil dragons into doves and changed the fires of the hellish home into the River of Love. The hellish home looked more like a garden of happiness now. Perturia ran away and Pentagon was able to take all the good spirits back to heaven-front with him.
