A certain wolf and a stag were friends. One day, the stag was hungry. The wolf suggested, “Why don’t you borrow some wheat from the sheep.” Both of them went to the sheep. The stag said to the sheep, “Please give me some wheat. I will return it after some time.” The sheep replied, “Oh no! I can’t give you my wheat.” The clever stag said, “I will surely return it. But if you want, you can keep the wolf. When I come to return your wheat, I will take him.” The sheep was scared that they might be playing a trick on her and said, “The wolf is used to taking what he wants and to run off; and you, too, can quickly outdo me in your speed. How, then, shall I be able to find you, when the day of payment comes?”
