Mac was watching a magic show at the village fair. Soon, the magician called little Mac onto the stage. He put Mac in a big green box. It was dark inside. Mac groped around in the darkness and felt a doorknob. He opened it and found himself in a strange land. There were huge trees with brownish-yellow leaves. The air smelt of burnt flesh and death. As Mac walked along, somebody caught his collar from behind. Mac turned around and stared into the ugly greenish face of an ogre. “Small, crunchy bones for me!” cried the ogre in delight. Just then, another gigantic figure approached them. “Give this boy to me,” cried the giant, stretching out his shaggy-haired rubbery hands. Both the ogre and the giant started fighting. Taking the opportunity, Mac ran and hid in the hollow of a birch tree. Gladly, he found himself on the magician’s stage again.
