One day, a hunter was roaming the sea-shore when he saw a sea-bird called a tern. He immediately shot the bird. The wounded tern fell into the sea, near the shore. Before he could reach the spot where the wounded bird had fallen, a pair of terns flew to its rescue. They took hold of its wings, lifted it out of the sea and carried it towards a safe area. More terns followed and joined the rescue operation. The birds carried the wounded one in turns. Whenever the first two were tired, the next two picked the injured bird up and continued the operation. Finally, they managed to take it to a faraway rock. The curious hunter moved towards the rock. But as soon as the terns saw him coming, they swooped down and lifted the wounded one, carrying it away. In this way, the terns managed to save their fellow member from danger. The unity of the birds impressed the hunter so much that he felt ashamed of his act of hunting animals.
