The Swimmer

Every year, a swimming competition was held in the Perry Lake. Every year, the swans used to win. Everyone thought the swans would win again, as they did every year. But it was doubtful as a new swan, Sweeny, had joined the team. Sweeny was a very clumsy swan. She could not swim gracefully. She usually ended up with her tail feathers in the air and her feet dangling about. Therefore, she was put at the back of the team in the hope that no one would notice her. But Sweeny had made up her mind to help her team win again. So she practised a lot every day. On the day of the competition, she swam so gracefully that her team won the competition. Sweeny was awarded the prize for the best swimmer. After that Sweeny opened a swimming school and taught swimming to many clumsy swimmers like her.
