Long ago, a young boy wanted to learn sword-fighting. He went to a teacher to teach him sword-fighting. The teacher agreed. Many days passed by but the boy was not given any training. He was told to do small things like mopping the floor, cooking food and so on. The boy asked the teacher, “Why are you not teaching me sword-fighting?” Next day, as the boy was working, the teacher hit him on the head. The boy was surprised. From then on, such surprise attacks kept happening. But one day, when the teacher attacked the boy, the boy dodged the blow. The teacher was very happy and praised the boy. The teacher advised the boy, “Sword-fighting is not just about fighting with the sword. It is also understanding what is there in your opponent’s mind and countering it skilfully.” The boy became a skilled swordsman.
