A lady was very fond of birds. One day, she went to the market. There, she saw a man selling parrots. So, she bought a parrot from him. He was very pretty and colourful. The lady decided to teach him to speak. Every day, she taught him a few words. The parrot was a quick learner and learnt everything very quickly. Slowly, the parrot became very talkative. The lady wanted to show him off to her friends. So, she invited them home. But the parrot did not let any of the ladies talk and kept chattering all the while. The lady regretted this. She thought, ‘I wish I had not invited these ladies over. This parrot has really embarrassed me.’ Disgusted with the talkative parrot, the lady set him free.
