Once, a rich man lost thirty gold coins. But luckily for him, his friend’s daughter found the gold coins. She gave them to him. But the man became greedy. He said, “I had lost forty gold coins. Ten are missing. Give me my missing coins.” The girl replied, “I do not have any coins.” So, he took the girl to the court. The judge asked the girl, “How many gold coins did you find?” She replied, “Thirty gold coins.” The judge said to the man, “Since the girl has found only thirty coins, they are not your lost coins. If anybody reports that they have found forty gold coins, I will send for you.” Seeing that he was going to lose his thirty coins, the man shouted, “Oh! I remember, I had lost only thirty gold coins.” But the judge ignored him. The girl was very happy and went home with the thirty gold coins.
Moral: Being dishonest never pays.
