Once, a tired traveller reached a village. He knocked at many doors. None opened the door. They thought the wicked witch of the mountains had come to trouble them. Just then, a girl saw the traveller and rushed to open the door. The mother scolded the little girl. The girl slipped out of the back door with some food for him. She said, “I will hide you in the barn. Come!” Once inside the barn, the traveller turned into a wizard. “You are a brave and kind girl. Tell me what you want. I will punish everyone else.” “Please,” cried the little girl, “the villagers are not bad. They are very scared of the wicked witch who troubles us.” The wizard decided to forgive them, and stayed in the barn. While leaving the next morning, he waved his magic wand and the witch instantly reached a strange land. The villagers were happy again.
