The Two Disciples

The-Two-Disciples

Once, a teacher had two disciples. One day, the teacher showed a mango tree to them. The teacher asked the first disciple, “What do you think of this mango tree?” The disciple answered, “In spite of people hitting this tree with stones, it gives us sweet and juicy mangoes. I wish all human beings would learn this message from the mango tree–to share their belongings even if they have to suffer for this.” The teacher asked the other disciple the same question. The disciple said, “This mango tree will give mangoes only when we hit it with stones. So, it is clear that in order to get good fruits from others, we need to be violent. Only then, will we get happiness.” The teacher liked the positive answer of the first disciple and showered his blessings on him. He told the second disciple to change his negative attitude to a positive one.
Moral: Always think positive.
