A donkey named Jupiter worked for a herb-seller, who gave him very little food and too much of work. Jupiter was very unhappy. One day, Jupiter prayed to God to provide him with a new master. Soon, a tile-maker bought him from the herb-seller. Jupiter became even more discontented, as he had to carry heavier loads and had to work harder in the field. Jupiter again pleaded to God, “Please send me to another master.” God replied, “This would be your last chance, Jupiter.” And soon, Jupiter was sold to a tanner. Jupiter realised that he had fallen into worse hands. His new master was a tanner who would soon kill him for his skin. Jupiter groaned, “It would have been better for me to either eat less or work more, rather than be dead!” He who finds unhappiness in one place is not likely to find happiness in another.
