A hunter normally felt at home in the darkest areas of any forest. However, one morning, something about a swamp seemed different. He couldn’t shake the sensation of being watched from the time he had arrived there. Scared, he quickly climbed up a tree. Just then, he heard a creature walking across the swamp and towards a nearby thicket. “The creature stayed out of sight,” he wrote in his diary. “I knew it was in the water as I could hear the ‘splash, splash’ as it put one foot in front of the other slowly. As the noise became louder, I was so scared that I pointed my gun towards it!” However, the creature suddenly charged into the thicket. The hunter ran as fast as he could. He never saw the creature. But a few days later when he returned to get a forgotten bag, he saw deep claw marks on the tree and the bag was gone, too.
