As usual, the people of Israel forgot the good deed of God, and continued with their acts. However, they remembered Him after being attacked by the cruel Midianites. They would wait until the grapes and crop would harvest and then forcibly took them away from the people. Also, they took away the sheep, the cattle, and the camels. Such thing was making the people poor and they prayed, “Lord, please help us.” A Manasseh tribe member named Gideon was also afraid of losing his crop, as others were. He thought of a unique idea to save crop for winters. While doing so, he saw a stranger standing in front of him, and was surprised. The stranger was none other than the messenger of God. He said, “God has chosen you for the task of rescuing the people of Israel.” He was surprised as he knew that he was not strong and brave.
