A water fowl was once merrily flying in his territory, when he saw a dead body of none other than the son of Adam, floating in water, who was killed by his enemies. As the bird started to rejoice that God had given him food in the form of carcass, some vultures and kites suddenly descended upon the carcass and had a good meal.
The bird flew to a distant country fearing his own death. When enquired by a tortoise of his origins, the water fowl replied, “When you are attacked by oppressors, there is no other way but to fly away.”
Saying this, he went back to his place while his enemies had disappeared leaving only bones of the carcass. The water fowl hence lived a peaceful life which ended because of a hungry falcon.
The tortoise died as he did not praise the falcon when he saw him. The Sultan was delighted to know about salutations and praises.
