In a small village, a girl named Cathy lived with her family. One afternoon, Cathy quarrelled with her brother and sister. Then, she left home in anger. She reached the wishing well and started throwing pebbles into it. Ripple, the wish fairy, lived in the well. She said, “Cathy, please stop throwing pebbles into my house. I’ll fulfil the three wishes for you, if you stop.” Cathy said without thinking, “Turn my brother into a spider and my sister into a wasp. Also, turn me into a beautiful princess.” Cathy was happy all the way back home; she looked like a princess. On reaching home, she found that her brother and sister had become a spider and a wasp respectively. Cathy was sad to lose her brother and sister. She realised her mistake and asked Ripple to undo the wish. Cathy found more joy with her family than being a princess.
