The Wishing Game

The-Wishing-Game

Fairy Sybil went to the forest one day. It was her job to make sure that everyone was happy and content. But no sooner did she fly by an oak tree than it said, “I am not so flexible as a pine tree. I can be uprooted easily.” The pine tree was near by. Fairy Sybil asked the pine tree whether it was happy. In response, it said, “What a pity! I can fall easily too. I wish I was like the grapevine!” Then Fairy Sybil flew over to the grapevine. She asked, “Are you happy that someone wants to be like you?” But the grapevine said, “No, I wish I was a rose shrub. How I would have blossomed!” Fairy Sybil went to the rose shrub, which said, “I’m happy to be me. I don’t want to be anything else.” Fairy Sybil said, “You cannot become someone else. So, accept yourselves and be happy.”
