The Witch’s Animals

Once, a good witch ruled over animals in an enchanted forest. All the animals in the forest were kind-hearted and helpful. One day, a herd of horses was crossing a river. All the horses swam across the river except a young colt. His parents urged, “Son, come on; you can wade through water.” However, the colt was afraid that he would get drowned, so he started crying loudly. The witch sent four animals, the elephant, the bear, the deer and the monkey, to help the colt. When they reached the river, the four friends started making a boat. The bear and the deer brought wood, the elephant chopped it and the monkey made a beautiful boat. When the colt climbed into the boat, the monkey and the bear rowed the boat to the other side of the river. The colt was happily reunited with his family. He thanked the four friends and the witch.
