Once, there was a woman who always kept food on her window for the poor. A hunchback used to take that food every day but he never used to thank the woman. He would only say, “The evil you do remains with you. The good you do, comes back to you!” The woman felt bad. One day, the woman added poison to the food. But later, she threw the food and kept fresh food. Now, the woman’s son had gone to seek his fortune. She prayed for his safe return. That evening, she was surprised to find him standing in the doorway. He exclaimed, “It is a miracle that I’m here! I had collapsed of hunger but a hunchback gave me food.” When the mother heard this, her face turned pale. She realised the significance of the hunchback’s words, “The evil you do remains with you. The good you do, comes back to you!”
Moral: Always do good and forget.
