Kelly wanted to be alone and went to her a favourite quiet spot in the forest. She had not been there for long when suddenly, she saw a woman washing rags in the river. She had long, flowing white hair, and was wearing a white dress. Kelly almost called out to her when a chill hit her. She continued to watch, in spite of the fact that fear was creeping up towards her, like a mist. Then, to her amazement, the woman disappeared before her eyes like a fading mist. She ran home, her mind racing with what she had seen. She met her father at the porch and told him everything. “Why was she washing rags by the river?” Kelly said. “You saw the washing witch known as The washer woman. Seeing her can bring harm,” answered her father. Kelly never went to the forest alone again.
