You will need:
- Swimming caps (1 for each thinking cap you want to make)
- Permanent markers in various colours including black
- Pen and paper
Get together with friends and make a creative thinking cap.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Get a diagram of the human brain. Ask a
friend to wear the swimming cap. - Mark and label the cerebrum, cerebellum
and brain stem on the swimming cap. - On a sheet of paper, note down the importance of the cerebrum (in charge of conscious activities, judgement, etc), cerebellum (controls voluntary movements, language, etc) and the brain stem (which not only connects our spine to the brain but also controls involuntary body functions).
- Next mark out the smaller bifurcations of your brain, like the frontal lobe (in charge of movement, memory and sel-control), the parietal lobe (which controls our body sensations), the occipital lobe (which is responsible for vision), temporal lobe (responsible for hearing) and some sulci around the cap.
- The sulci are the folds in the brain, which allow us to do loads of thinking in very cramped spaces.
- Coluor each region differently.
RESULT
By creating our own live version of the brain, it is easier not only to learn but also remember the functions of the various parts of the brain.
