Once, there lived three billy goats near the town. They daily grazed the grasses there. But the grasses in town side were about to finish, so they were very disappointed. Then a few days later, they came to know about the grasses which grew on mountain-side. But they had to cross a little tunnel to reach the mountain. Inside this tunnel there lived a wicked wolf that ate up all those who entered the tunnel. But the clever goats did not fear the wolf.
The smallest billy goat went first and as he stepped inside the tunnel, the wolf shouted, “Who dares to enter my home?” “I am the smallest billy goat,” came the reply. “I shall eat you up,” growled the wolf. “Please wait, for a bigger goat is on its way,” said the small billy goat. The greedy wolf agreed to let him go. The second billy goat also escaped the wolf in this manner. The wolf was becoming impatient. On seeing the third billy goat, the wolf pounced on him. “You cannot escape me!” he snarled. But the last goat was big and strong. He knocked the wolf down with his huge horns and killed it.
