Thunderstorm develops when tiny particles of ice and water present in the clouds collide with great force. Thunder is an unusual sound occurring during a thunderstorm. This collision causes a series of sudden electrical discharges. These discharges result in sudden flashes of light and trembling sound waves, commonly known as thunder and lightning. Lightning is a bright flash of light that resembles a huge electric spark. Thunderstorm produces hailstorm, rain, high winds and even tornadoes. This extreme weather condition can be fatal to Nature.
A typical thunderstorm is 24 km in diameter and lasts an average of 30 minutes.
