“To err is human, to forgive is divine,” said Pope. It is quite true. We all commit mistakes. How hard we may try, we cannot cease making mistakes. Even great men made mistakes. God alone is infallible and merciful. He forgives our mistakes. We often pray to God, “Forgive us for our trespasses.” And our sins are forgiven. In the same way, if a man makes a mistake, he should be forgiven and not punished for his error. Forgiveness is twice blessed. It blesses the man who forgives the erring man and the man who is forgiven for his mistakes. Besides, forgiveness wins over the hearts of the erring men. To be forgiven is god-like.
