Tugu Negara is a memorial structure built in Kuala Lumpur in 1966. Tugu Negara was built to honour the martyrs of Malaysia’s freedom struggle against the Japanese in World War-II and the Malaysian Emergency. Made of bronze, the sculpture is 15 metres in height, depicting a group of soldiers holding the Malaysian national flag aloft. The Tugu Negara is the world’s tallest bronze freestanding sculpture.
