There were two neighbours of whom one was severely envious of the other, the good one. Unable to bear the envy, the good man moved away to the capital and stayed as a dervish and brought many dervishes in the house.
One day, the envious man visited the good man’s house and pushed the good man into a well. Ironically, the fairies and the genie inhabited inside and saved him.
They informed him that the Sultan was bringing his daughter to him to deliver her from the spell of genius Maimoon. The dervish cured the Sultan’s daughter and became his son-in-law. He also pardoned the envious man. Later, he was dubiously made an ape by a wazir.
When the Sultan learnt that the monkey was actually the Prince, the princess by her magic converted him into a man again before dying. When the Sultan insisted the dervish to quit his kingdom, for he always reminded him of his princess’ death, the dervish shaved off his beard and eyebrows and wore the calendar dress. He came to Baghdad for justice.
And the third calendar started with his story.
