Tyre

Without the wheel most of the world’s work would stop. Automobiles, trains, street-cars, farm machines, wagons and nearly all factory and mine equipment would be useless. The oldest wheel known was discovered in Mesopotamia and is believed to date back 55 centuries. Man learnt to bind the rim and hold the fellies together with over slapping strips of metal serving as a tyre.

After it, John Boyd Dunlop invented practical pneumatic tyre in 1888 and it’s the blueprint for tyres we use today. The wheel is a device that enables the efficient movement of an object across a surface where there is a force pressing the object to the surface. Common examples are a cart pulled by a horse and the rollers on an aircraft flap mechanism. Without tyres, it’s not possible for anyone to travel and reach the destination at a specific time. Tyres revolutionized the transport industry, and give the biggest contribution in transport.
